S.R. No. 1268 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Lucio Aleman, Jr. 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins citizens 1-6 throughout the state and the people of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1-7 mourning the untimely loss of Lucio Aleman, Jr., who died recently 1-8 as a victim of the tragic Oklahoma City blast; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Born January 3, 1962, in Sinton, Texas, Lucio Aleman 1-10 graduated from Mathis High School and received a bachelor of science 1-11 degree in civil engineering from Texas A&I University in Kingsville; 1-12 he married Gabriella Rodriguez on October 27, 1990; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Lucio Aleman was dedicated to his work with the 1-14 Federal Highway Administration; he worked in Tennessee, Texas, and 1-15 Washington, D.C., before being transferred to Oklahoma City, where 1-16 he was promoted to Assistant Area Engineer; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A talented and loyal employee who was successful in 1-18 his career, Mr. Aleman was later given the dual title of Safety and 1-19 Traffic Coordinator and Civil Rights Coordinator; and 1-20 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, 1-21 Lucio Aleman was respected in the community for his numerous 1-22 accomplishments, and he was beloved and admired by his colleagues 1-23 in the Federal Highway Administration; and 2-1 WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he 2-2 gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and 2-3 valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and 2-4 WHEREAS, Lucio Aleman was a devoted husband and father, and 2-5 he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his 2-6 family and many friends; now, therefore, be it 2-7 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-8 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family 2-9 of Lucio Aleman, Jr.: his wife, Gabriella Rodriguez Aleman; his 2-10 daughter, Alynna Rebecca Aleman; his son, Lucio Allen Aleman; 2-11 his parents, Lucio and Isabel Felicita Aleman; his sisters, 2-12 Josefina Montes and Noemi Benavidez; and his mother-in-law, 2-13 Mrs. Hilda Rodriguez; and, be it further 2-14 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-15 members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the 2-16 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-17 in memory of Lucio Aleman. 2-18 Truan 2-19 Armbrister Henderson Ratliff 2-20 Barrientos Leedom Rosson 2-21 Bivins Lucio Shapiro 2-22 Brown Luna Sibley 2-23 Cain Madla Sims 2-24 Ellis Moncrief Turner 2-25 Gallegos Montford Wentworth 3-1 Galloway Nelson West 3-2 Harris Nixon Whitmire 3-3 Haywood Patterson Zaffirini 3-4 Bullock, President of the Senate 3-5 ______________________________________ 3-6 President of the Senate 3-7 I hereby certify that the above 3-8 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 3-9 on May 26, 1995, by a rising vote. 3-10 ______________________________________ 3-11 Secretary of the Senate 3-12 ______________________________________ 3-13 Dean of the Senate
