LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 7, 1995 TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 300 Committee on Transportation By: Hochberg House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 300 (Relating to the release of the transferor of a used or secondhand motor vehicle from certain civil and criminal consequences arising out of the use, operation, or abandonment of the vehicle.) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would prescribe information that may be disclosed to the Department of Transportation pursuant to the transfer of a secondhand vehicle by sale or trade. The bill would remove civil or criminal liability, if the transferor completes the form within 10 days of the transfer, and pays the established fee.
