In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
495 (Relating to abandoned personal property at private
institutions of higher education.) this office has determined the
following:

The bill would amend Section 51.213, Education Code to give
governing boards of private institutions of higher education the
ability to promulgate regulations regarding abandoned personal
property. Since this bill addresses issues related to private
institutions, there is no fiscal impact to the State.

No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
is anticipated.
