Oliveira, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 823 Committee on Economic Development By: Heflin House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 823 (relating to the amount a hotel or motel may charge for a telephone call) this office has determined the following: The bill would amend the Public Utility Regulatory Act by raising the amount that a hotel or motel may charge for telephone calls for which assistance from the hotel or motel is not required from $0.50 to $1.00. The fiscal implication to the State or units of local government cannot be determined at this time. Upon receipt of additional information, the fiscal note will be revised accordingly.
