In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
941 (relating to the service and return of a subpoena in a
criminal proceeding) this office has determined the following:

The bill would add the option of mailing a copy of a subpoena by
certified mail, return receipt requested to the last known
address of a witness to the service and return of subpoena
statute in Article 24.04 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The fiscal implication to units of local government cannot be
determined.
