LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 10, 1995 TO: Honorable Pete Patterson, Chair IN RE: Committee Substitute Committee on Agriculture & Livestock for House House of Representatives Bill No. 1168 Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 1168 (relating to a review of Texas programs to research, control, and eradicate animal tuberculosis and to implementing an improved program based on the review) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would authorize the review of current tuberculosis research, eradication and control programs for livestock, cervidae, exotics, and other nontraditional livestock and the implementation of a comprehensive plan that improves the system. The bill would include the following college and agencies: Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, the Texas Animal Damage Control Service, the Texas Animal Health Commission, the Texas Department of Agriculture, the Texas Department of Health, and the Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. Fiscal implications would be dependent upon specifics of the comprehensive plan cannot be determined. The fiscal implication to the State or units of local government cannot be determined.
