LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
May 9, 1995
TO: Honorable Ken Armbrister, Chair IN RE: House BillNo. 1225,
Committee on State Affairs as engrossed
Senate By: Carona, et al.
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
1225 (Relating to registration and insurance requirements for a
former military vehicle.) this office has determined the
following:
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would allow the operation of former military vehicles
without displaying registration or inspection documentation on
the vehicle but the items would be required to be carried in the
vehicle. The bill would require the Department of Transportation
to establish a vehicle identification system for the vehicles and
to maintain a file of these vehicles.
No significant fiscal implication to the State or units of local
government is anticipated.
