LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 21, 1995 TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1225 Committee on Transportation By: Carona House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 1225 (Relating to the display of evidence of registration and inspection on former military vehicles.) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill provides for the registration of some former military vehicles and would require the Department of Transportation, to the extent practical, allow the use of the unique identification mark assigned that vehicle by the armed force in which the vehicle was used. If such a mark is not used, the department would designate a registration mark consisting of at least four and not more than ten numbers, letters, or numbers and letters in combination, at least two inches in height. The probable fiscal implication of implementing the provisions of the bill during each of the first five years following passage is estimated as follows: Fiscal Probable Cost Out Year of State Highway Fund 006 1996 $228,646 1997 3,867 1998 4,218 1999 4,570 2000 4,921 Similar annual fiscal implications would continue as long as the provisions of the bill are in effect. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Source: Department of Transportation LBB Staff: JK, ML, DF
