Oliveira, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1297 Committee on Economic Development By: Rodriguez House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 1297 (relating to the minimum wage) this office has determined the following: The bill would amend Section 62.051 of the Texas Labor Code to increase the state minimum wage from $3.35 to $4.25 per hour or the current federal minimum wage, which ever is greater.
