TO: Honorable Rene O. Oliveira, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1297
Committee on Economic Development By: Rodriguez
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
1297 (relating to the minimum wage) this office has determined
the following:
The bill would amend Section 62.051 of the Texas Labor Code to
increase the state minimum wage from $3.35 to $4.25 per hour or
the current federal minimum wage, which ever is greater.
No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
is anticipated.
