In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
1298 (relating to access to criminal history record information
by the banking commissioner) this office has determined the
following:

The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.

HB1298 would allow the Department of Banking, through its Special
Audits function, to request a Criminal Record Check for the
following licensees under its purview:

-  Applicants for state chartered banks;
-  Bank Trust Companies;
-  Currency exchange licensees;
-  Sale of Check licensees;
-  Perpetual Care Cemeteries; and
-  Pre-paid Funeral Contract licensees.

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
