Montford, Chair IN RE: House BillNo. 1341, Committee on Finance as engrossed Senate By: Stiles Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 1341 (Relating to the operation and funding of the Work and Family Policies Clearinghouse) this office has determined the following: The bill would amend the Texas Health and Safety Code, the Local Government Code and the Labor Code and increase funding for the Work and Family Policies Clearinghouse Program of the Texas Employment Commission. The bill would increase program funding by establishing a $2 fee for a certified copy of a birth certificate. The bill would allow counties to keep $.20 of the fee for administrative costs and deposit the remaining $1.80 in the state treasury to the credit of the Work and Family Policies Fund.
