LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 11, 1995 TO: Honorable Allen Hightower, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1433 Committee on Corrections By: Hamric House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 1433 (relating to the eligibility for release on mandatory supervision of certain inmates of the institutional division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice) this office has determined the following: The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure by requiring prisoners eligible for release to mandatory supervision to be subject to review by a parole panel. The bill would also expand the class of offenders who are ineligible for mandatory supervision.
