LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
April 29, 1995
TO: Honorable Allen Place, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1440
Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence By: Alonzo
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
1440 (relating to the dismissal of an appeal from a justice or
municipal court in a criminal case) this office has determined
the following:
The bill would permit a county court to dismiss an appeal from a
justice or municipal court if the defendant fails to comply with
the terms of an appeal bond. It is anticipated that the bill
will have a positive fiscal implication on counties.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The fiscal implication to units of local government cannot be
determined.
