FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
March 28, 1995
TO: Honorable Harvey Hilderbran, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1662
Committee on Human Services By: Hilderbran
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
1662 (Relating to the powers and duties of the Department of
Protective and Regulatory Services; providing penalties.) this
office has determined the following:
This bill would create a new chapter in the Human Resources Code
to provide for the powers and duties of the Department of
Protective and Regulatory Services.
The department currently operates under the provisions of Article
4413(503), Vernon's Revised Civil Statutes. This bill would
transfer the department's enabling legislation from the Civil
Statutes to the Human Resources Code, and add various other
provisions to the new chapter.
No significant fiscal implication to the State or units of local
government is anticipated.
