LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 28, 1995 TO: Honorable Harvey Hilderbran, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1662 Committee on Human Services By: Hilderbran House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 1662 (Relating to the powers and duties of the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services; providing penalties.) this office has determined the following: This bill would create a new chapter in the Human Resources Code to provide for the powers and duties of the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. The department currently operates under the provisions of Article 4413(503), Vernon's Revised Civil Statutes. This bill would transfer the department's enabling legislation from the Civil Statutes to the Human Resources Code, and add various other provisions to the new chapter. No significant fiscal implication to the State or units of local government is anticipated.
