LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 2, 1995 TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1765 Committee on Public Health By: King House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 1765 (Relating to the regulation of the fitting and dispensing of hearing instruments.) this office has determined the following: The bill would make several modifications to the statute that provides for the regulation of the fitting and dispensing of hearing instruments. These modifications include: providing for indirect supervision of a temporary permit holder, making changes in the composition of the State Committee of Examiners in the Fitting and Dispensing of Hearing Instruments, permitting the committee to adopt reasonable and necessary fees to cover the cost of administering the program, and making changes in the definition of entities required to file bonds or sureties.
