LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
April 18, 1995
TO: Honorable Curtis Seidlits, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1924
Committee on State Affairs By: Maxey
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
1924 (Relating to the state mileage guide adopted by the
comptroller.) this office has determined the following:
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would require the Comptroller to provide an electronic
version of the state mileage guide and to encourage the use of
the electronic version. In addition, the bill would authorize
the Comptroller to upgrade the guide in either printed or
electronic form, only as needed not as under current law, yearly.
The probable fiscal implication of implementing the provisions of
the bill during each of the first five years following passage
is estimated as follows:
Fiscal Probable Savings Probable Savings Probable Savings
Year from General from State from Other State
Revenue Fund 001 Highway Fund 006 Funds
1996 $21,000 $5,000 $36,000
1997 21,000 5,000 36,000
1998 21,000 5,000 36,000
1999 21,000 5,000 36,000
2000 21,000 5,000 36,000
Similar annual fiscal implications would continue as long as the
provisions of the bill are in effect.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
