House of Representatives No. 1933
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
1933 (relating to the provision of infomration to the holders of
certain insurance policies) this office has determined the
following:
The bill amends the Insurance Code to establish 30 days as the
period in which a workers' compensation insurer must respond to a
policy holder's request for a list of claims charged the policy
and the payments on each claim and an explanation of the
relationship claims and premium rates. The bill requires
insurers to provide policy holders with a list of claims charged
against the policy and the payments on each claim.
No fiscal implication to the State or units of local
government is anticipated.
