LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 29, 1995 TO: Honorable John Smithee, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 1933 Committee on Insurance By: DeLaGarza House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 1933 (relating to the provision of information to the holders of certain insurance policies) this office has determined the following: The bill would amend the Insurance Code to establish 30 days as the period in which a workers' compensation insurer must respond to a policyholder's request for a list of claims charged against the policy, the payments and reserves on each claim and an explanation of the relationship of claims and premium rates. The bill would also require property and casualty insurers to provide policyholders with a list of claims charged against the policy and the payments and reserves on each claim.
