LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 27, 1995 TO: Honorable Hugo Berlanga, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2027 Committee on Public Health By: Yarbrough House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 2027 (Relating to the regulation of tanning facilities; providing civil and administrative penalties.) this office has determined the following: The bill would amend Chapter 145, Health and Safety Code, relating to the regulation of tanning facilities and provides for civil and administrative penalties. The bill clarifies a number of provisions found in the Tanning Facility Regulations Act as they relate to the use of tanning devices and provides for uniformity with existing federal and state laws affecting these devices. This bill subjects adult tanning facilities to the requirements of Chapter 145, Health and Safety Code. No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government is anticipated.
