March 31, 1995
TO: Honorable Senfronia Thompson, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2093
Committee on Judicial Affairs By: Thompson
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
2093 (relating to applications for emergency detention of certain
persons at risk of harming themselves or others because of the
effects of mental illness or substance abuse) this office has
determined the following:
It is likely that the bill would increase costs to counties as a
result of increased demand on the resources of the probate
clerk's office.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The fiscal implication to units of local government cannot be
determined.
