LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 17, 1995 TO: Honorable Robert M. Saunders, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2148 Committee on Land and Resource By: Jackson Management House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 2148 (Relating to certain structures on coastal public land.) this office has determined the following: The bill would amend the Chapter 33 of the Natural Resources Code to define and add "permanently moored vessels" to the list of structures requiring permits on coastal public lands. The bill would repeal a provision of the statute prohibiting the School Land Board from permitting structures in certain specified situations involving coastal public lands. It would also grant the School Land Board the discretion to revoke a cabin permit on land which is later leased for a public purpose that is not compatible with the continued presence of a structure. The bill would also make several other technical changes in the cabin permitting program; however, none of these amendments would result in any fiscal impact to the General Land Office. No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government is anticipated. Source: General Land Office and Veterans' Land Board LBB Staff: JK, KW, DF
