LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session May 3, 1995 TO: Honorable Tom Craddick, Chair IN RE: Committee Substitute Committee on Ways & Means for House of Representatives House Bill Austin, Texas No. 2185 By: Romo FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 2185 (Relating to the assessment of court costs for certain criminal offenses.) this office has determined the following: The bill would repeal 10 court fees and replace them with uniform court fees. The proposed fees would be $70 for felonies convictions, $50 for Class A and Class B misdemeanors, and $35 for Class C misdemeanors and similar offenses. Revenue received by the State would be allocated to various accounts in the General Revenue Fund. No net fiscal implication to the State or units of local government is anticipated.
