FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
2185 (Relating to the assessment of court costs for certain
criminal offenses.) this office has determined the following:

The bill would repeal 10 court fees and replace them with uniform
court fees. The proposed fees would be $70 for felonies
convictions, $50 for Class A and Class B misdemeanors, and $35
for Class C misdemeanors and similar offenses. Revenue received
by the State would be allocated to various accounts in the
General Revenue Fund.

No net fiscal implication to the State or units of local
government is anticipated.
