LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 28, 1995 TO: Honorable Edmund Kuempel, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2216 Committee on State Recreational By: Kuempel Resources House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 2216 (Relating to the issuance of licenses and stamps by the Parks and Wildlife Department; providing penalties.) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would allow the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission to set the issuance and collection fees retained by license deputies, authorize the Commission to set a different license year, establish licenses and license packages for hunting, fishing and other activities, enable the Commission to establish an automated license and stamp point of sale system, simplify the process for obtaining hunting cooperative licenses, and modify the fee structure for those licenses, wildlife management association licenses and private bird hunting area licenses. The fiscal impact of provisions related to license collection and issuance fees cannot be determined because the Commission would be authorized to set those fees. The fiscal implication to the State cannot be determined. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
