LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 4, 1995 TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2219 Committee on Transportation By: Hunter, Todd House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 2219 (Relating to establishing the Center for Ports and Waterways.) this office has determined the following: The bill would establish the Center for Ports and Waterways at the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI), a component of the Texas A&M University System. The center would employ personnel as well as accept gifts or research from any public, federal, or private source. The Texas Transportation Institute has the authority to perform the responsibilities that would be assigned to it upon passage of the bills and the creation of the center is consistent with the mission of TTI in conducting research in all modes of transportation. It is anticipated that the center's budget will be funded by external research grants and contracts. As a result, there will be no fiscal implication to the State or units of local government.
