LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 12, 1995 TO: Honorable Toby Goodman, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2323 Committee on Juvenile Justice and By: Clemons Family Issues House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 2323 (relating to sunsetting the involvement of the attorney general's office in matters related to child support) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would subject the Office of the Attorney General's Child Support Enforcement Division to abolishment under the Texas Sunset Act on September 1, 1997. The Sunset Advisory Commission would be required to review the Attorney General's child support enforcement program, which would cause an increase in the workload of the Commission. The Sunset Advisory Commission cannot determine the fiscal implications of the bill at this time. There would be no fiscal implications to the Office of the Attorney General. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Source: Sunset Advisory Commission, Office of the Attorney General LBB Staff: JK, JC, RR
