LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
April 4, 1995
TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2390
Committee on Transportation By: Black
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
2390 (Relating to the abolishment of the Texas High-Speed Rail
Authority.) this office has determined the following:
The bill would repeal Article 6674v.2, abolishing the Texas High
Speed Rail Authority as of September 1, 1995, and transferring
all unobligated amounts in the High Speed Rail Account to the
general revenue fund. Since this account is a consolidated fund
that is scheduled to lose its dedication and lapse into the
general revenue fund as of that date, unless appropriated, there
would be no additional gain to the general revenue fund. The bill
would also transfer all property and records to the General
Services Commission.
No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
is anticipated.
