In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
2448 (Relating to eliminating, consolidating, or revising certain
reports relating to institutions of higher education.) this
office has determined the following:

The bill would amend Vernon's Civil Statutes, the Education Code,
and the Natural Resources Code regarding reporting requirements
for institutions of higher education.  The bill would eliminate,
consolidate, or revise certain reports required from institutions
of higher education.  The bill would also propose review criteria
to be applied to existing and proposed reporting requirements.

Each section of the bill addresses different adjustments to
certain reporting requirements.  Not all institutions of higher
education file all reports covered by the bill.  The amount of
time spent on a report differs by institution as does the cost
associated with report preparation.  While it is anticipated that
the bill would represent a savings to institutions, the amount of
potential savings cannot be determined.


The fiscal implication to  the State or units of local government
cannot be determined.
