FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
2517 (Relating to contractual indemnification provisions in motor
carrier contracts.) this office has determined the following:

The bill would prohibit persons from requiring indemnification
from a motor carrier as a condition for that carrier's
transporting property for hire, or entering a property for
loading, unloading, or transporting for hire, except in
circumstances relating to wrongful or negligent acts.

No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
is anticipated.
