LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 2, 1995 TO: Honorable Steve Holzheauser, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2520 Committee on Energy Resources By: Horn House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 2520 (Relating to the sale of certain motor fuel; providing criminal and civil penalties.) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would transfer the responsibility of administering, testing and enforcing provisions relating to the sale of motor fuels from the Comptrollers Office to the Commissioner of Agriculture. The Commissioner of Agriculture would administer and enforce rules relating to an automotive fuel rating program. The Comptrollers Office would still set and collect fees and penalties imposed by the provisions. No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
