LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
April 3, 1995
TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2783
Committee on Transportation By: Place
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
2783 (Relating to the conditional grant program of the Texas
Department of Transportation.) this office has determined the
following:
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would expand the Texas Department of Transportation
Conditional Grant Program to include women, include occupations
other than civil engineering, allow for the expenditure of funds
for the program from the State Highway Fund and require that no
less than $400,000 in conditional grants be issued by the
Department annually.
The probable fiscal implication of implementing the provisions of
the bill during each of the first five years following passage
is estimated as follows:
Fiscal Probable Cost Out
Year of State Highway
Fund 006
1996 $200,000
1997 200,000
1998 200,000
1999 200,000
2000 200,000
Similar annual fiscal implications would continue as long as the
provisions of the bill are in effect.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
