LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
April 4, 1995
TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2862
Committee on Transportation By: Raymond
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
2862 (Relating to research conducted by public senior colleges
and universities on behalf of the Texas Department of
Transportation.) this office has determined the following:
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would allow the Department of Transportation to contract
with a university, university system, or public senior college or
university for research and experimentation in all phases of
transportation activities.
The Department estimates that the bill would result in savings to
the State Highway Fund but those savings could not be determined
at this time.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
