LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 4, 1995 TO: Honorable Clyde Alexander, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2862 Committee on Transportation By: Raymond House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 2862 (Relating to research conducted by public senior colleges and universities on behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation.) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would allow the Department of Transportation to contract with a university, university system, or public senior college or university for research and experimentation in all phases of transportation activities. The Department estimates that the bill would result in savings to the State Highway Fund but those savings could not be determined at this time. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
