April 19, 1995
TO: Honorable Fred Hill, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 2969
Committee on Urban Affairs By: McCoulskey
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No.
2969 (relating to the acquisition of land and facilities by a
municipality; authorizing the issuance of municipal bonds) this
office has determined the following:
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would authorize a municipality to acquire land and
buildings, by any lawful means other than eminent domain, for
the purpose of selling or leasing, the facilities to a higher
education institution which will provide a significant number of
vocational and vocational-technical education courses in the
facility.
The fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
cannot be determined.
