LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 21, 1995 TO: Honorable John Smithee, Chair IN RE: House Bill No. 3000 Committee on Insurance By: Averitt House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Bill No. 3000 (relating to the collection, compiling, exchanging, and use of information related to criminal activity, fraud, material misrepresentation or nondisclosure in connection with an insurance transaction) this office has determined the following: The bill would amend the Insurance Code to add a new article providing that any person, including insurers, agents and their employees, may provide information that the person deems reasonable and necessary to prevent criminal activity, fraud, material representation, or material non-disclosure in connection with insurance transactions.
