FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Joint
Resolution No. 82 (Proposing a constitutional amendment granting
the legislature authority to release the state's interest in land
that is held by a person in good faith under color of title.)
this office has determined the following:

The bill would propose a constitutional amendment which, if
adopted, would authorize the legislature to provide for the
release of all or part of the state's surface or mineral interest
in public land under certain specified conditions, and with
certain specified exclusions. Fiscal implications to the State
would be dependent upon implementing legislation.

No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the State for the publication of the resolution is
$90,000.
