Saunders, Chair IN RE: House Joint Committee on Land and Resource Resolution Management No. 82 House of Representatives By: McCoulskey Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on House Joint Resolution No. 82 (Proposing a constitutional amendment granting the legislature authority to release the state's interest in land that is held by a person in good faith under color of title.) this office has determined the following: The bill would propose a constitutional amendment which, if adopted, would authorize the legislature to provide for the release of all or part of the state's surface or mineral interest in public land under certain specified conditions, and with certain specified exclusions. Fiscal implications to the State would be dependent upon implementing legislation. No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.
