         Senate
         Austin, Texas

FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
71 (Relating to the requirements for licensing as a professional
counselor.) this office has determined the following:

The bill would increase the number of months or hours of
supervised experience required for licensure as a Licensed
Professional Counselor. The bill would also exempt persons
meeting requirements for licensure by endorsement, as specified
in V.T.C.S., Article 4512g, Section 18 (a), from the examination
administered under this section.

No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
is anticipated.
