LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session February 15, 1995 TO: Honorable John T. Montford, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 123 Committee on Finance By: Leedom Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 123 (Relating to the issuance of specially designed license plates for certain military personnel and veterans.) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill provides for the issuance of special license plates to recipients of the Air Force cross or distinguished-service cross, the Army distinguished-service cross, the Navy cross, or the medal of honor. Participants would be exempted from motor vehicle registration fees. The cost for production of the new specialized plate would be $40,000 in fiscal year 1996 to be funded out of State Highway Fund 006. Revenue losses attributable to the exemption from motor vehicle registration fees or cost in subsequent years are not expected to be significant. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Source: LBB Staff: JK, DF
