                                       IN RE: House Bill
     No. 229.
                                               As Introduced

This office has been asked to prepare a fiscal note on
the above listed legislation, a copy of which is attached.

Since your agency will have knowledge regarding the
fiscal implications of the proposed legislation, I would
appreciate your assistance in determining the following:

        1. The probable cost or savings in expenditure of
     state funds
and/or increase or decrease in state revenue and change
     in
number of state employees in each of the first five
     years
after passage of the bill and as a result of the bill.

        2. The probable impact on units of local government
     by
authorizing or requiring expenditures, or new or
     increased
local taxes, fees or charges in each of the first five
     years
after passage of the bill and as a result of the bill.

        3. Whether or not there will be additional state or
     local fiscal
implications after the first five years.

If you have any questions regarding this request, please
contact Gordon Taylor at (512) 463-1200.

Thank you for your continued assistance.
