FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
March 1, 1995
TO: Honorable Bob Hunter, Chair IN RE: Senate BillNo. 360,
Committee on State, Federal, & as engrossed
International Relations By: Montford
House of Representatives
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
360 (relating to the continuation and functions of the Texas
Commission on the Arts) this office has determined the following:
The bill would continue the Texas Commission on the Arts until
September 1, 2007 and amend the commission enabling statute. The
amendments involve changes to the composition of the commission
and changes to the responsibilities of the commission and the
executive director.
The bill would require the commission to initiate negotiations
for and enter into a memorandum of understanding with each state
agency involved in the arts to cooperate in program planning and
budgeting. The commission is required to publish the memorandum
of understanding in the Texas Register.
No significant fiscal implication to the State or units of local
government is anticipated.
