LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 1, 1995 TO: Honorable Bob Hunter, Chair IN RE: Senate BillNo. 360, Committee on State, Federal, & as engrossed International Relations By: Montford House of Representatives Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 360 (relating to the continuation and functions of the Texas Commission on the Arts) this office has determined the following: The bill would continue the Texas Commission on the Arts until September 1, 2007 and amend the commission enabling statute. The amendments involve changes to the composition of the commission and changes to the responsibilities of the commission and the executive director. The bill would require the commission to initiate negotiations for and enter into a memorandum of understanding with each state agency involved in the arts to cooperate in program planning and budgeting. The commission is required to publish the memorandum of understanding in the Texas Register. No significant fiscal implication to the State or units of local government is anticipated.
