LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 3, 1995 TO: Honorable John Montford, Chair IN RE: Committee Substitute Committee on Finance for Senate Senate Bill No. 407 Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 407 (Relating to making emergency appropriations for distribution of state money to school districts and certain public institutions and commissions.; Relating to making emergency appropriations for distribution of state money to school districts and certain public institutions and commissions.; Relating to making emergency appropriations for distribution of state money to school districts and certain public institutions and commissions.) this office has determined the following: The bill would appropriate the following amounts from the General Revenue Fund for fiscal year 1995: $305,000,000 to the Central Education Agency to fund certain foundation school program payments; $740,000 to Tarleton State University for expenses incurred in repairing hail damage; $1,449,405 to Southwest Texas State University to pay costs of repairing hail and water damage; $13,744,133 to the Higher Education Coordinating Board to fund enrollment and start-up costs at new campuses; $2,312,050 to the Higher Education Coordinating Board to fund cost at South Texas Community College; and $70,000 to the Cosmetology Commission. The payments to school districts from the appropriation above will result in General Revenue Fund savings in fiscal year 1996.
