LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session May 9, 1995 TO: Honorable Bob Bullock Honorable Pete Laney Lieutenant Governor Speaker of the House Senate Chamber House of Representatives Austin, Texas Austin, Texas IN RE: Senate Bill No. 410, as Enrolled FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 410 (Relating to the delay of certain payments or transfers from the general revenue fund.) this office has determined the following: The bill would restructure the transfer of the Highway Fund portion of motor fuel taxes collected in June and July of 1997. Instead of being made the month following collection, the affected transfers would be made between September 5th and September 10th. The bill passed each house of the Legislature by two-thirds vote and contained language which would give the bill immediate effect. As a result of having immediate effect, the section of the bill repealing Section 153.5015, Tax Code, would repeal the delay of the June and July 1995 motor fuel transfers. The probable fiscal implication of implementing the provisions of the bill during fiscal year 1995 and each of the first five years following passage is estimated as follows: Fiscal Probable Revenue Probable Revenue Year Gain/(Loss) from Gain/(Loss) from General Revenue State Highway Fund Fund 001 006 1995 ($300,000,000) $300,000,000 1996 300,000,000 (300,000,000) 1997 297,323,000 (297,323,000) 1998 (297,323,000) 297,323,000 1999 0 0 2000 0 0 No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
