FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
460 (Relating to license qualifications for certain inspectors
regulated by the Texas Real Estate Commission.) this office has
determined the following:

The bill would permit persons to become licensed as real estate
inspectors without being sponsored by a professional inspector or
first obtaining a license as an apprentice inspector. The Real
Estate Commission would anticipate receiving approximately 300
new applications per year beginning in fiscal year 1996.

The bill's provisions could result in a revenue gain of
approximately $20,000 per year to General Revenue-Consolidated.
Additional workload could be absorbed within existing function
without significant additional cost.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
