In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
480 (Relating to the jurisdiction of the Railroad Commission of
Texas over pipeline safety.) this office has determined the
following:

The legislation would prevent municipalities or counties from
imposing any requirements related to safety standards or
practices on gas pipelines subject to regulation by state or
federal law.


No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
is anticipated.
