Truan, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 627 Committee on International Relations, By: Truan Trade & Technology Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 627 (relating to authorizing the Texas State Library and Archives Commission to negotiate an agreement with the appropriate authorities in Mexico for the exchange of certain Alamo and San Jacinto battle flags) this office has determined the following: This bill would add a section to Subchapter A, Chapter 441 of the Government Code to allow the exchange of battle flags captured at the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. The bill would authorize the Texas State Library and Archives Commission to negotiate an agreement for the exchange of the flags with the appropriate authorities in Mexico.
