FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
627 (relating to authorizing the Texas State Library and Archives
Commission to negotiate an agreement with the appropriate
authorities in Mexico for the exchange of certain Alamo and San
Jacinto battle flags) this office has determined the following:

This bill would add a section to Subchapter A, Chapter 441 of the
Government Code to allow the exchange of battle flags captured at
the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. The bill would
authorize the Texas State Library and Archives Commission to
negotiate an agreement for the exchange of the flags with the
appropriate authorities in Mexico.

The probable fiscal implication of implementing the provisions of
the bill during each of the first five years following passage
is estimated as follows:

            Fiscal Probable Cost Out
             Year of General
                         Revenue
