LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 29, 1995 TO: Honorable Judith Zaffirini, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. 799 Committee on Health & Human Services By: Luna, Gregory Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 799 (Relating to harm reduction programs to reduce the risk of transmission HIV infection of acquired immune deficiency syndrome.) this office has determined the following: The bill would permit local health agencies to establish demonstration projects for harm reduction programs to reduce the risk of transmission of HIV infection in the five municipalities with the highest rate of AIDS cases. There may be some costs to local governments in association with these demonstration projects, but the amount cannot be determined. No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
