FROM: John Keel, Director

In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
799 (Relating to harm reduction programs to reduce the risk of
transmission HIV infection of acquired immune deficiency
syndrome.) this office has determined the following:

The bill would permit local health agencies to establish
demonstration projects for harm reduction programs to reduce the
risk of transmission of HIV infection in the five municipalities
with the highest rate of AIDS cases. There may be some costs to
local governments in association with these demonstration
projects, but the amount cannot be determined.

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The fiscal implication to units of local government cannot be
determined.
