LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 3, 1995 TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair IN RE: Senate BillNo. 1049 Committee on Criminal Justice By: Whitmire Senate Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 1049 (relating to comprehensive revisions to Subchapter B, Chapter 56, Code of Criminal Procedure, the Crime Victims' Compensation Act) this office has determined the following: The bill would expand benefits for crime victims under the Crime Victims' Compensation Act and affects the Compensation to Victims of Crime Fund from which payments are made to victims of crime. The Office of the Attorney General can absorb the additional benefit estimates with current and projected amounts in the Compensation to Victims of Crime Fund.
