Senate
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
1049 (relating to comprehensive revisions to Subchapter B,
Chapter 56, Code of Criminal Procedure, the Crime Victims'
Compensation Act) this office has determined the following:
The bill would expand benefits for crime victims under the Crime
Victims' Compensation Act and affects the Compensation to Victims
of Crime Fund from which payments are made to victims of crime.
The Office of the Attorney General can absorb the additional
benefit estimates with current and projected amounts in the
Compensation to Victims of Crime Fund.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
