LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 12, 1995 TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair IN RE: Committee Substitute Committee on Criminal Justice for Senate Senate Bill Austin, Texas No. 1049 FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 1049 (relating to the Crime Victims' Compensation Act; providing civil and administrative penalties) this office has determined the following: The bill would expand benefits for crime victims under the Crime Victims' Compensation Act and affects the Compensation to Victims of Crime Fund from which payments are made to victims of crime. The Office of the Attorney General can absorb the additional benefit estimates with current and projected amounts in the Compensation to Victims of Crime Fund.
