FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
1299 (Relating to abolition of the board of regents of East Texas
State University and the transfer of the institutions under that
board to The Texas A&M University System) this office has
determined the following:
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would abolish the East Texas State University board of
regents and transfer the governance, operation, management and
control of East Texas State University and East Texas State
University-Texarkana to the board of regents of the Texas A&M
University System.
No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government
is anticipated.
