LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session April 4, 1995 TO: Honorable Bill Ratliff, Chair IN RE: Senate BillNo. 1299 Committee on Education By: Cain, Ratliff, Senate Turner, Jim Austin, Texas FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 1299 (Relating to abolition of the board of regents of East Texas State University and the transfer of the institutions under that board to The Texas A&M University System) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would abolish the East Texas State University board of regents and transfer the governance, operation, management and control of East Texas State University and East Texas State University-Texarkana to the board of regents of the Texas A&M University System.
