In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
1301 (Relating to physician licensing, including the notice and
late fee requirements for the annual registration of physician
licenses, the temporary licensure of certain out-of-state
physicians, and the licensure of certain international medical
graduates.) this office has determined the following:
This bill amends the Medical Practice Act by reducing the late
penalty fees for expired physicians licenses as well as providing
for a 30-day "grace period" after the expiration of a license.
Both actions would reduce the revenues that normally would be
received by the agency and deposited into the General Revenue
Fund.
The probable fiscal implication of implementing the provisions of
the bill during each of the first five years following passage
is estimated as follows:

Similar annual fiscal implications would continue as long as the
provisions of the bill are in effect.
