LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session March 30, 1995 TO: Honorable Bill Ratliff, Chair IN RE: Committee Substitute Committee on Education for Senate Senate Austin, Texas Bill No. 1320 FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 1320 (Relating to the Martin Luther King, Jr., statue fee at The University of Texas at Austin) this office has determined the following: The bill would authorize The University of Texas at Austin to collect a student fee of $1 per student for any semester or summer term for construction of a Martin Luther King, Jr. statue. Any funds collected in excess of that needed to construct the statue would be used to establish Martin Luther King, Jr., student scholarships. These fees would be auxiliary in nature and would not affect educational and general operations of the university. No fiscal implication to the State or units of local government is anticipated.
