LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session May 1, 1995 TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair IN RE: Committee Substitute Committee on Criminal Justice for Senate Senate Bill Austin, Texas No. 1337 FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 1337 (relating to policies and procedures of the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, including continuing education training requirements) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would authorize the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education to suspend the license of a peace officer who fails to complete certain required training. The bill would require the commission to develop rules and reporting requirements to implement the provisions of the bill.
